This month’s “Harvs meet a Harrier” is a popular young man who has gone from strength to strength, from parkrun to marathons he always produces fantastic times, and now he is old enough can be found sometimes running to the bar for a cheeky Stella, it’s James Clarke.

How long have you been running with club?

I’ve been with the club 4 years.

What made you start running?

My mum & dad liked running & junior parkrun was starting so I thought I’d give it a go

Biggest running achievement?

Loads! 2 marathons & getting Crossgates Harriers runner of the year last year

Favourite race?

Loads again – Manchester marathon, Great north run for a half marathon, Leeds & East Leeds 10k – too many to choose just one

Any running tips?

Just try your best, don’t go too fast at the beginning of a race & don’t be too hard on yourself

Best thing about being part of Crossgates Harriers?

The best thing for me is all the people I’ve met & how helpful & friendly everyone is. As I’m autistic, I can struggle with communication BUT CGHs has been amazing for me & helped me become more confident socially
